Acorn Cat Rescue

Cat Rescue

Be the first to review

Lynda and Trevor Atkins, our founders, have between them rescued and re-homed over 500 cats and kittens in the Dordogne over the last 9 years on behalf of other animal rescue organisations. They recently decided to start their own rescue and re-homing organisation, Association Acorn.

We take in cats and kittens in desperate need and we care for them until we can find them loving, permanent homes.

It costs money to prepare a cat or kitten for re-homing. Every Acorn cat or kitten will be vaccinated, microchipped, de-parasited, and where age appropriate, sterilised. We manage this by carrying out our own fundraising and we also rely on donations from the public.

Visit our website and Facebook page for more information and our latest cats.

Acorn Cat Rescue

PEPE (born APRIL 2019) and PERCY (Born May 2019)

These two charmers have been with Acorn far too long. Don’t get us wrong, we love them dearly, but it’s time for them to move on and settle in their forever home/s, either together or separately. We’re advertising them together as they are besties in their foster home; the two get along really well and are quite complementary, Pepe being a bit more discreet than his demonstrative best friend, but we are sure they will be ok if separated.

Black and white Pepe might appear a bit timid at first but he really wants to get to know you before demonstrating his love and trust – which doesn’t very take long. Once you’ve gained his confidence, he is calm and collected, loves a stroke and to sleep on your lap or with the other cats, especially the older ones.

With his feline friends, Pepe embarks on his daily outdoors activities: running, climbing and cricket-chasing. He has become quite a padded-cushion expert, and will happily help you make the best choice for your next summer garden furniture!

A very energetic, cuddly and inquisitive cat who will follow you everywhere!

Tabby Percy is a leaf hunter! It’s a very rare trait amongst felines and will mean you have a leaf-free patio! Percy also loves to explore any food shopping bag you will bring into the house.

Percy is as fast as a cheetah, and looks quite a lot like one as well. He is a bundle of energy, playful and confident – he loves his cuddles and loves to remind you that it’s cuddle time, now! He has taken the habit of falling asleep in his foster’s lap after finishing playing with Pepe.

Percy also has a beautiful husky meow that he likes to use sparingly.

The boys are vaccinated, chipped and de-parasited and are due to be sterilised soon.

They are in 24140 St Martin des Combes. Contact [email protected]
